Reminders about testing and February Break

Feb. 24, 2022

Dear Cornell Community,

Students are no doubt looking forward to enjoying the February Break (Feb. 26-March 1). We also understand that many faculty and staff may have plans to take time off as well. While COVID-19 transmission rates have decreased in many areas, travel, as well as attending gatherings, especially indoors, greatly increases the likelihood of contracting and spreading the virus.

As a reminder, all students – regardless of whether they traveled or remained local – are expected to be tested before resuming their normal campus activities on March 2. Faculty and staff who travel at any point throughout the semester, or who attend large gatherings, are strongly encouraged to get tested before returning to on-campus work activity.

As always, supplemental PCR testing remains available, and extended test site hours are available during the break. Additionally, antigen kits are available for pickup at any Cornell test site. Please remember to upload the result (positive or negative) of any antigen test that is performed and, if positive, to isolate immediately. If you are experiencing mild to moderate symptoms suggestive of COVID-19, you may obtain a symptomatic test on campus; if your symptoms are severe, stay home and seek medical attention.

Sincerely,
