Update on campus mask requirements

July 31, 2021

Dear Ithaca and Geneva Campus Faculty and Staff,

As announced yesterday, all individuals are required to wear a mask when inside non-private spaces in campus buildings or facilities. This is in accordance with Tompkins County Health Department guidance following a recent increase in positive COVID-19 cases in our surrounding community.

When indoors, all faculty, staff, students and visitors – regardless of vaccination status – must remain masked, unless in a private, non-shared space (e.g., office or dorm room) or when eating; physical distancing must be maintained when unmasked. Unvaccinated individuals should continue to wear a mask outdoors when physical distancing is not possible.

Thank you for complying with university public health guidance. We will continue to monitor the course of the pandemic and provide updates when warranted.

Sincerely,

Michael Kotlikoff
