College Vaccination Day has been cancelled
For more information, see the April 13 cancellation message.
Reminder: Sign up for college vaccination day by 6 p.m.
Dear Students,
Don’t forget: Registration (or re-registration) for “College Student Vaccination Day” closes today at 6 p.m.
The vaccine clinic will be held on Thursday, April 15 at the Shops at the Ithaca Mall vaccination site. During the clinic, Cayuga Health System (CHS) will administer the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which is a single-dose vaccine that offers immunity beginning two weeks after you receive your dose.
What you need to know
- Even if you have previously registered for the Tompkins County Health Department (TCHD) COVID-19 Registry, you must re-register by 6 p.m. and indicate that you are a Cornell student. There are a limited number of available doses on this day and appointments are not guaranteed.
- On Tuesday, TCHD will randomly select a set number of registered students and notify them about available appointments. Check your email often, including your spam folder.
- Email communications from TCHD will include additional details about appointment times, necessary documentation and available transportation options from campus to the Ithaca Mall site. Please be prepared to arrive on time and to bring all required documentation.
For anyone who has questions about COVID-19 vaccines, I encourage you to check out “The Science Behind COVID-19 Vaccines” discussion with Cornell faculty today from 4-5 p.m.
As of April 8, 19% of our on-campus population is now vaccinated! This is a wonderful achievement, but we have a way to go until we achieve herd immunity levels. Thank you for doing your part to keep yourselves and our campus community healthy and safe.
Sincerely,
Sharon McMullen, RN, MPH, FACHA
Assistant Vice President for Health and Wellbeing, Student and Campus Life
